Hawker Hues I

Hawker Hues I celebrates the joy and chaos of shared meals at a local food centre—those spirited nights of “tze char” with friends, where dishes arrive fast and hot, and conversation flows even faster. Inspired by two personal favourites—Beef Hor Fun and Prawn Paste Fried Chicken—it captures the layered, steamy intensity of flavours and friendships.

There is that unmistakable first whiff, the glistening sheen of wok hei done right, the satisfied nod across the table. The painting swirls with the messiness of it all: clashing plates, loud opinions, stories told over the sizzle of oil. And always—without fail—the unspoken tension over who will snag the last piece of har cheong gai.
