Inspired by the Schiacciata Tartufo, the piece captures the sharp crackle of the toasted crust and the earthy, lingering hum of truffle served at my favourite Italian osteria. As a mixed-media artist, I treat the canvas like a kitchen, layering textures to mimic the sensory complexity of the dish. Each splash and stroke represents a movement of flavor, where the “sizzle” of the preparation becomes a permanent, gestural mark. It is a study of how the ears and eyes can collaborate to “taste” a painting.
