modern calligraphy, contemporary art

Re-wilding. Re-imagining. Re-envisioning.

What a tremendous season of change it has been.

I have been making art for almost twenty years, but it was only recently that I stepped into the light to show more widely. That journey brought wonderful people and encouragement, but it also brought its share of heavy disappointments.

After my shows in January, I decided to listen to the need for a reset. I have moved away from the noise of showing and back into the quiet of becoming. I am re-prioritizing what it means to simply be the artist I am meant to be.

I have taken so much pleasure in spending the last few months deep in exploration and experimentation, responding to every creative nudge that I have felt. The silence and stillness have given me so much room to be reflective, making art that is deeper, unfiltered, and more inherently me.

I am learning that my  wide interests – every technique, every material, every subject, do not have to be separate. They can all co-exist. I can be the maker of multiple series.

I am moving fearlessly toward new directions, because one thing I know for sure: I have a lot more to say, and there is so much more great art to be made.

What does a creative reset look like for you?
